Teenagers' Internet Socializing Not a Bad Thing

Teenagers Internet Socializing Not a Bad Thing
‘”It may look as though kids are wasting a lot of time hanging out with new media…”’aid Mizuko the leader of a research team for the MacArthur Foundation. This foundation is researching how teenagers’ internet socializing is not necessarily a bad thing. Most teenagers use the internet to stay in touch with friends that they met at school or camp, or on sports teams. The study is part of a $5o million project on digital and media learning. They interviewed more than 8oo teenagers and their parents. They also observed teenagers online for moiré than 5,ooo hours. To most people being online is a necessity which they can’t live with out.

Most teens use the internet for their homework but most of those teens get distracted and go on MySpace or Facebook. A lot of information can be found on the internet for school projects but who knows what is actually useful. Internet socializing can be a good thing and a bad thing. It can be a good thing because teenagers can keep in touch with people very far away. It is also a bad thing because teenagers can get distracted or hurt by pedophiles and such buy giving away to much information, as said in this article.
